Golf component manufacturers were struggling to get their message heard. National magazines catering to major brands such as Callaway, TaylorMade and others were seemingly uninterested in the public relations efforts of shaft and grip manufacturers. Plus, the smaller manufacturers didn’t have the multi-million dollar marketing budgets needed to compete for the consumers’ attention through the traditional channels. They needed a creative solution.
Partnering up with component manufacturers, Meng & Associates created and designed ClubmakingWIRE.com, custom clubmaking’s first on-line news service providing press release distribution and archival services to golf equipment manufacturers, large and small. Through ClubmakingWIRE, component manufacturers are now providing free golf equipment news to thousands of clubmakers, component buyers and avid golfers.
Result: Within its first six months of operation, ClubmakingWIRE surpassed one million hits, attracted more than 20,000 subscribers and helped more than a dozen golf equipment-oriented companies get their message out to a targeted audience.
